Charlotte & I have always wanted to try out this DIY because we have heard how easy & simple it is to create personalized mugs with Sharpies. We tried our hand at these & we are quite happy with how they turned out...& how inexpensive it was! We bought our white mugs at the dollar store for $1.25 CA each. The Sharpies were pretty inexpensive as well, so all together this DIY was less then $10 CA. How perfect does that sound! A great homemade gift for someone special? I'd say so!

All you need:

Sharpies (any colour)

White Mugs

An Oven

Since it was a beautiful sunny weekend, Charlotte & I had the pleasure of making this DIY outside.

After washing & drying them, we started by simply drawing some designs on our mugs. We found out that some rubbing alcohol & little elbow grease helped remove unwanted Sharpie marks & designs. You have to act quickly though...because it eventually becomes very difficult to remove. Also, be mindful that writing on a flat surface is a lot easier than a rounded smooth surface.

After you have your designs drawn on, its time to cure the Sharpie onto the mugs. You will need to bake your mugs in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes & voila, you have your very own custom designed mugs!

These mugs will be sensitive in the dishwasher & your designs may fade, so we suggest hand washing them! We look forward to seeing your custom designed mugs! Tag @prettypaperlove on instagram to show us how creative you got!
