Summer is here, which means hot sunny days & a cold drink in hand. At prettypaperlove we are big fans of smoothies; for breakfast, lunch or just a little snack. You could even spike up your smoothies by adding your favourite liquor! Yum! Check out what smoothies we enjoyed this weekend. They were absolutely delicious!
We first did a little reading about some superfoods & bought some yummy ingredients for our smoothies:
• Chia Seeds
• Maqui Powder
• Dried Goji Berries
• Pomegranate Juice
• Almond Milk
• Frozen Strawberries & Raspberries
• Canned Peaches (the fresh peaches weren't quite ripe)
Freeze your spinach
If you're not a fan of spinach but you know you need to get more greens in your body, we suggest freezing your spinach. Frozen spinach blends a lot easier into smoothies & it crumbles up so you won't even know its there. So sneaky!
Thicker, Creamier Smoothies
If you have some bananas on the verge of going bad, slice them up & put them in your freezer. When you are craving a thicker smoothie, add some of your frozen bananas to your smoothie. If you don't have bananas but you want a creamy texture, scoop in an avocado. Sound weird, but its actually fantastic!
Smoothies are very a simple on-the-go refreshing treat. If you're feeling extra hungry in the mornings, add some protein powder to your smoothie. That should keep you full & energized all morning! The sky is the limit with what you can put into a smoothie & thats what makes them so great!
